Rodchenko studied 1910-1914 at the Kazan Art School under Feshin and 1914 at the Stroganov College in Moscow. 1918-1921 he was a member of the IZO-Narkompros. 1920-1930 he taught at the Vkhutemas/Vkhutein and 1920-1924 at the Inkhuk. In 1923-1925 he was attached to LEF and in 1927-1928 he became editor of Novyi LEF. From 1933 to 1941 he was attached to SSSR na Stroike (USSR under Construction)
