Karasik studied 1971-1976 at the Pedagogic Institute and the Faculty of Art and Graphics of the Herzen institute in Leningrad. In 1991, he founded the publishing house Kharmsizdat and created one of the few possibilities in Russia to publish artist's books. He also was strongly involved in the organizations of the Petersburg Kharmsfestivals. Next to his work as a graphic artist he also writes books about the history of of the book art in the former Soviet Union. He lived and worked in St. Petersburg. |
