Tamar St. Petersburg 1992 390 x 277 mm. Edition: 27 Copy no 4/27 Copy no. 25/27 in slipcase |
Tamar a Bible story taken from chapter 13 in the second book of Samuel. Karasik published it in collaboration with Delta and Aurora-Design publishers in St. Petersburg. The English language text is printed in offset on coarse, light-brown paper. The double page title and four full page illustrations were lithographed in nine colours. This is the first example of Karasik’s use of this kind of multicoloured lithography in his artists’ books. The cover with flaps is a more usual three colour lithograph. The book is stitched and kept in a slipcase inside a card cover.
