Radlov graduated in history and filology at the St. Peterburg University in 1911. 1909-16 he studied at the Imperial Academy in St. Petersburg under Kardovskij and Lansere. He was a mMember Mir Iskusstva. He taught Art History in Leningrad 1922-1937, and 1938-42 at the Moscow Art Institute.
