Nikolai Zagrekov (Nikolaus Sagrekow) studied 1914-1918 at the Saratov Bogolyubov Art School and 1918-1921 at the Moscow Vkhutemas under Ilya Mashkov and Petr Konchalovskii. Together with his wife, of German Volga origins he moved 1921 to Berlin where he studied at the Arts and Crafts School. He lived and worked in Berlin-Spandau
