Shevyakov graduated from the leningrad Art and Industrial College before studying from 1923 to 1927 at the faculty of painting of the Leningrad VKhUTEIN. He worked as an illustrator. In 1939 he was arrested and sentenced to ten years in a forced labour camp near Sverdlovsk, in 1949 he was sent to Jezag a settlement near Taskent (Uzbelistan). In 1956 he was free and settled in Tashkent.
