Lanskoy was born in Moscow but in 1909 the family moved to St. Petersburg. In 1918 Lanskoy lived in Kiev where he painted his first paintings. During the civil war he faught with the White Army and was injured and went to Constantinople. In 1921 he emigrated to Paris. He took lessons with Soudeikin and at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. In 1923 he had his first exhibition. After 1942 he painted only abstract works. |
