Gorlov studied at the Vkutemas in Moscow 1921-25 under D.Moor and V.Vatagin. In the 20's and 30's he illustrated some children's journals such as Murzilka and Pioner. In the same period he also designed and illustrated some children's books. Since 1935 he worked as a sculptor in Moscow.
