Lidia Zholtkevich the daughter of the sculptor AF Zholtkevich. From 1908 to 1917 the family lived in Paris as the father was a political refugee. In 1915 and 1916 she took lessons at the Colarossi Academy. In 1917 the family returned to Petrograd and Lidia entered the VKhUTEMAS, where she studied under AM Rodchenko, LS Popova, and AA Vesnina. She also studied at the graphic faculty under NN Kupriyanov. From 1923 to 1925 she worked as an illustrator for children's books and in 1925 she married the artist G.A.Echeistov. |
