Sergei Zalshupin ( Serge Choubine) was the son of a well known professor of economics in St. Petersburg. He studied 1915-1918 at the studio of V. Shukhaev. In the early 20's he emigrated to Berlin and became a.member of the board of the 'Haus der Kunst' in Berlin. There he worked as an illustrator and portraitist for the publisher Spolokhi. In 1924 he moved to Paris and took part in the Salon d'Automne of 1924 and 1930. |
