Yasinskii studied at the Taranov Art Studio in Leningrad before taken a master course at the Stieglitz School of Art. He graduated 1965 from the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Leningrad Academy of Arts. He lived en worked mainly as an illustrator of children's books.
