Yaremich studied at the Kiev icon painting school of the Pechersk monastery. From 1882 to 1887 he took lessons at the Kiev Drawing School. After 1900 he worked and lived in St. Petersburg and during 1904 to 1908 he worked as a scenographer for Diaghilev. After 1918 he worked as head of the restauration department of the State Hermitage Museum in Leningrad.
