Vertinskaia graduated 1987 from the secondary school of art at the Moscow Surikov Art Institute and in 1992 from the department of painting of the Surikov Art Institute where she has studied under Tair Salakhov. From 1992 to 1994 she studied under Yuri Cooper at the Paris Nataional Academy of Art.
