Vatagin
studied 1899 under Iuon and Martynov; until 1907 at the Moscow Art Institute; 1910 litography in Berlin. From 1912 active as bookillustrator. After the
revolution he taught until 1921 at the SVOMAS in Moscow. He took part in the international exhibits in Paris (1925) and Venice. From 1931-1958
he worked as a sculptor at the
Zoologic Museum from the Moscow University.
