Uspenskaya graduated
from the Moscow Art College where she studied
theatre and decorative arts under V.A. Shestakov. In 1947 she entered
the graphics department of the Surikov Insitute
in Moscow, where she studied under D.E. Dekhterev
in book illustration. She worked for several
of the largest publishing houses including Detgiz,
Detskaya literatura, and Malysh. She also worked for the journal
Murzilka. She is particularly known for her
illustrations of the classic Russian fairytales.
She was married to the artist Boris Uspenskii (1927-2005) |
