Tyshler studied 1912 to 1917 at the Kiev school of art and in Alexandra Exter’s studio, where he befriended I. Rabinovich (1894–1961) and N. Shifrin (1892–1961). In 1921 he went to Moscow and became a founder member of OST the society of easel painters. During the 1930s Tyshler was attacked for formalism but continued to work mainly as a theatrical designer. |
