The group 13 (THIRDTEEN), named after its number of participants, was a group of mainly graphic artists who got organized in order to make exhibitions. Only two exhibitions were held in 1929 and 1931 in Moscow, respectively, at the Press House on Nikitsky Boulevard and the Assembly Hall of Moscow State University on Mokhovaya. An exhibition scheduled for 1930 did not take place, altough a catalogue was published. The ideology of the founders was purely artistic, i.e. creating pure art, independent of the political moment or social aspects. The group, as well as all other creative associations, ended in 1932, when, by decree of the Central Committee of the CPSU, all art groups were eliminated
