Syrnev studied 1923-1927 at the Leningrad State Art and Industrial College and 1927-1932 at the Leningrad Vkhutein under V. Konashevich and P. Shilingovskii. he worked at the Leningrad Detgiz under V. Lebedev. He died at the front.
