Born Ekaterinoslav (now Dneprpetrovsk), 18 October 1896

Died Kharkov, 3 January 1979

Strakhov-Braslavskii studied 1913-1915 at the Odessa Art School. After the revolution he worked as an illsutrator for political newspapers and as a poster designer. In 1922 he became head of the art section of the State Publishing House in Kharkov. In the 1930s he worked mainly as a sculptor. During the war he again took to designing (antifascist) posters. In the years after the war he created sveral monuments in the Ukraine
