This book was published on the occasion of the personal exposition of Staritsky on the 6th of November 1975 at Les Main Libres Gallery in Paris. This copy, the first of ten, bears a relief engraving on the front cover and contains an original collage by Staritsky. On the first page of this copy Butor wrote an essay in red ink. Copy 226 is one of the 290 regular copies. Butor dedicated this book to Staritsky.
