Albert-Birot (1876-1967) was a French poet, sculptor painter and playwright who, in his youth, championed Futurism and Dadaism and got associated with Guillaume Apollinaire. La belle histoire, written in 1956, is a narrative poem about the genesis of the universe, describing the stages of the formation of our world. The etchings Staritsky designed for this book show the same style, Staritsky used for Mythologies du Dimanche, combining creation with creativity.
