The Flower Inn at Vence on the road to Grasse, was a restaurant for artists and sportsmen. The owner and chef was Jean Lelaurain who had a reputation for his fine culinary art. This reproduction of a quite simple etching by Staritsky was either a gift after a good meal or an ordered work. The card is not dated but is probably made between 1947 and 1952, when Staritsky and Orix lived in Nice not far from Vence.
