Born Ühtri (Hiiumaa island, Estonia), 17 October 1924

Died Moscow, 25 October 1970

Sooster studied from 1945 to 1949 at the Tartu National Culture institute. In 1949 he was arrested and send to Karaganda. In he 1956 he settled in Moscow where he worked as a free-lance artist and started illustrating children's books. In 1960 he joined the Moscow Soyuzmultfim institute designing animation films. In 1967 he had his first exhibition together with Sobolev, Yankilevskii and Kabakov.
