Son of an army general, Solomko started his carreer as an auditor at the Art Academy in St. Petersburg. In the 1890's he illustrated for the journal Niva and for the publisher A.S. Suvorin. Until 1917 he took part in expositions in St. Petersburg. In 1910, Solomko inherited a a small fortune which enabled him to settle in Paris. He continued to paint watercolors and to illustrate books. |
