Sofronova (also spelled Safronova) studied 1910-1913 at the studio of F. Rerberg and 1913-1917 at the Studio of I. Mashkov. in 1914 she participated in the 'Jack of Diamonds' exhibition in Moscow. From 1919 to 1922 she taught painting and drawing at art schools in Orel and Tver. In 1931 she joined the Moscow art group '13'. During the 1930s she worked also as an illustrator for the Academia Publishers.
