Сидур, Вадим Абрамович

Born Ekaterinoslav, 28 June 1924

Died Moscow, 26 June 1986

Sidur fought during the Great Patriotic War at the Ukrainian front and got his face mutulated during one of the fights. From 1945 to 1953 he studied at the department of monumental sculpture of the Moscow Stroganov Art Institute. Because of his work he was accused of formalism so his works, that had been on show abroad, were never on show in the USSR.
