Died Leningrad, 5 April 1942

Shillingovskii studied from 19021 to 1911 at the Odessa  Art School and from 1912 to 1914 at the St. Petersburg Academy of Art under I. Repin, D. Kardovskii and others. From 1921 to 1929 he was founder and dean of the faculty of printing at the Leningrad Vkutemas, and from 1936 to 1942 he headed the graphic department of the Leningrad Repin Institute. He died of hunger during the siege of Leningrad.
