Zinaida Serebriakova (Born Zinaida Lansere) spent her youth in the Neskuchnoe estate of the Lanceray-Benois family. From 1903 to 1905 she studied under O.E. Braz and in 1905 and 1906 at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris. After the revolution het husband (Borid Serebriakov) died ad she was left with four children an no means of living. In 1924 she was able t go to Paris where later two of her children (the painter Alexandre Serebriakoff is one of them) were able to join thier mother. In 1960 she was able to see her other children.
