Semenko moved in 1911 to St.
Petersburg where he studied psychology and aesthetics under V. Bekhterev.
He became acquainted with the Petersburg futurists and started
publishing his own poems in 1913. In 1918 he settled in Kiev where he
founded some futurists groups and edited a couple of almanacs and
journals. He was arrested and shot during the great purge. He is the
most prominent Ukrainian futurist of the 1920s.
