In Madrid Mikhail Evzlin, a philologist, writer, and publisher founded Ediciones del Hebreo Errante [Editions of a Wandering Jew]. In his dual role as scholar and craftsman, Evzlin sought a harmony between page layout, typography, illustrations, paper, cover, and theme of the book. Initially his publications were intended to contain texts of the classic Russian avant-garde that were inaccessible. The first works, published in 2001, were thus by Aleksei Kruchenykh and Igor Bakhterev, both with original artwork by Segay. Evzlin also published experimental poetry, including poets like Pierre Garnier and Nikonova, standard bearers of visual poetry.
