In the summer of 1989, only months after Nikonova organised the first ever international mail art exhibition in the Soviet Union at the local music school—and which also successfully toured the Sverdlovsk region—Segay was allowed to mount Nikonova’s international exhibition of mail art under the title “Scare Crow” in the rooms of the Eisk Museum. For this exhibition Segay had the museum print a poster and publish a text, which was an absolute novum on the subject and was, as might be expected, not fully appreciated in the cultural world of Eisk.
