In 1988 Hansjörg Zauner founded the magazine Solande in Vienna and would function as its Editor in Chief and Publisher until 1998 when publication was ceased. Zauner devoted himself unconditionally to experimental literature. The subtitle, Journal of Experimental Work, later changed into Magazine for

New Poetry, posed the programmatic boundaries. The small-format books offered enough space to let different fonts and layouts of the texts abound. In addition to Austrian authors such as Gerhard Jaschke and Ilse Kilic, Zauner also invited

international authors such as Pierre Garnier and Valeri Scherstjanoi, among other poets from the Soviet Union, such as Nikonova and Segay, even beforethey moved to the West.
