Sakhnovskaya studied from 1921 to 1924 at the xylographic studio of S.Nalepinskaya-Boichuk and from 1927 to 1929 at the Kiev Art Instute under I. Pleshchinskii. In 1934 she moved to Moscow where she worked as a graphic artist and illustrator.
