Ryndin, son of an engineer, studied from 1918 to 1922 at the Moscow Vkhutemas. In 1922, he joined the group Makovets. In the early 1930s he became the chief designer of the Moscow Kamernyi Teatr. In 1947 he became chief designer of the Vakhtangov theatre and the Bolshoi theatre in Moscow. Het taught at the Surikov Institute.
