Reshetnikov studied at the Moscow Art School and from 1929to 1934 at the Moscow Vkhutemas un der D. Moor. He was one of the participants to the artic expedition of the steamship Cheliushkin. Reshetnikov is one of the main representatives of Socialist-Realism. He was twice awarded the Stalin prize.
