Nikolai Remizov was the son of the actor V.S. Vasiliev (psdeudonym Remizov). He studied at the Art Academy St. Petersburg under Kardovsky and from 1908-1913 he worked as
illustrator for the satirical journal Satirikon and 1913-1917 for Novi Satirikon. In 1920 he emigrated to Paris where he designed for the cabaret "The Bat". In
1922 he left, together with Balieff, for New York and became a filmdesigner.
