Raiskaya worked in a library before she took up studying art at the Penza Art School. From 1924 to 1930 she studied at the Moscow Vkhutemas under V. Favorskii, L. Bruni, and N. Kypreyanov. She worked for the Molodaya gvardiya publishers and  illustrated several journals.
