Popova studied in 1899 with Orlov, in 1907 at S. Zhukovskii 's studio, and in 1912 at 'The Tower' under Tatlin. From 1912 to1914 she studied at 'La Palette' under Metzinger and Le Fouconnier in Paris. In 1916 she became a member of the group Supremus. From 1920 to 1924 she taught at the Moscow Inkhuk and Vkhutemas and  designed for the Meyerhold theater and the 1st State Textile Factory.
