Platunov born in a Family of Russian Icon painters, graduated in 1906 from the Kazan Art College and in 1914 from the Higer Art School of the St. Petersburg Art Academy. After the revolution he worked as an art teacher at various Petrograd, later Leningrad, schools and as an draftsman od expidion of the All-Union Geological Committee. After the Great Patriotic War Platunov taught at the Leningrad Repin Institute. |
