Pavlenko graduated 1987 from the Riazan State Pedagogical Institute and started working as a primary school teacher before starting to work for the Moscow Federation of Cinematographers. Here he studied and designed animation films. In the mid 1990s he worked as a journalist. After 2005 books with his illustrations were published
