Died Antibes, 1961

Patlagean studied drawing in Chisinau until 1905 when his father was made blind during a progrom, he had to leave classes. In 1910 he workes as an illustrator for the Yiddish children's publishing house Far endzere kinder. Around 1917 he moved to paris where he studied with Aristide Maillol. In 1939 he emigrated to the USA but returned to France at the end of his life.
