Mikola (Nikolai) Pashkevich studied at the Vitebsk Vkhutemas under Malevich. From 1930 to 1933 he studied at the Leningrad Academy. Pashkevich moved to Minsk (Belarus) where he married Galina Dokalskaya. In 1940 he moved to Kaunas (Lithuania). In 1944 he ended up in a camp for displaced persons near Munich. In 1949 he emigrated to New York.
