Парыгин, Алексей Борисович

Born Leningrad, 2 December 1964

From 1982 to 1989 Aleksei Parygin studied graphic art at Leningrad Herzen Institute. Since 1997 he works on a series of long-term multimedia projects ("money", "the contemplation of art is the art of business", "in the forest", "the Posturbanism project"). In 1994 he became a member of St. Petersburg Union of artists of Russia and in 2003 a member of the International Association of art critics. Parygin is author of more than 50 articles on the history of modern art and graphics, and the first Russian fundamental research on art history and phenomenology of original silkscreen. He lives and works in St. Petersburg.
