Boris Parilov belongs to the 1960's school of Palekh miniature painters. He is a member of the Palekh Parilov family, specialized in miniature designs for lacquered boxes. Among them Pavel Parilov (1880-1956), who started as an icon painter, Nikolai Parilov (1891-1962), honored artist of the Russian federation, Nikolai Parilov (1880-1947), a portrait painter and others.
