Born Telchesvkii (Kovno), 3 August 1888

Died Moscow, 6 May 1971

Novitskii Studied at the faculty of history and philology of the St. Petersburg Imperial Academy, but was expelled because of revolutionary activities. He graduated from the Kiev pedagogical Academy. He was a supporter of constructivism and industrial art and became member of the editorial board of Soviet Architecture. In 1928 he became one of the initiators of the October group, an association of workers of new types of arts. He was author, editor and even designer for a number of publications.
