Nesterov studies from 1877 to 1884 at  the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under K. Voskresenkii, I. Prianishnikov and V. Perov, in between from 1881-1882 at the St. Petersburg Academy of Art. Nesterov is famous for his religious paintings and portraits.
