Donia Esther Nachshenwas
born into a Jewish family that feld the city of Zhitomir after the 1905
progrom. Eventually the family settled in London where Donia enrolled in
the Slade School of Art. She started working as a book illustrator by
the 1920s. Nachshen is best known for the posters she designed for the
high-profile campaigns by Board of Trade during the second World War.
