Mozalevskii started his eductation at the Art School in Kiev under V.K. Menk and I.F. Seleznev. From 1909 till 1913 he studied at the OPKh under Bilibin and
from 1911 till 1915 in the studio of Maté. In 1918 he married Valentina Danilova Rozova and emigrated over Austria, Tschecho-Slovakia and Latvia to
Germany. In the 20's he worked for Ladyzhnikov and the State Publishing House. In July 1926 he left for Paris where he also worked as a bookillustrator. In
1947 he returned to the Soviet Union. He published under the
pseudonym: Jean Alle.
