Petr Miturich, son of an artillery commander, began his study in the Military School in Pskov. His attraction to the art impelled him to go to Kiev to study at the Art School in 1906. In 1909 he joined the Academy of Art In St. Petersburg where he studied painting under N. Samokish. In 1916 he befriended the poet Velimir Khlebnikov and married in 1924 his sister Vera. Petr Miturich mainly worked as a painter and a book illustrator.
