From 1903 to 1907, Mestchersky attended high school in St, Petersburg. During 1907 and 1908 he studied law at the St. Petersburg University 1907-08 and from 1908 to 1911 diplomatic affairs at the Lyceum Alexander I in St. Petersburg. During his studies he took lessons in painting in the studio of Bernstein in St. Petersburg. In 1912 he went to Paris and studied until 1914 at the Academie Ranson and at the studio Maurice Denis. He worked mainly for the theatre and did some religious art. In 1936 he emigrated to New York. He died in a car crash in the USA.
